I first heard this track at the Identity Festival in San Francisco. It was played by the smoking hot Nervo twins haha. Although the build up is 4 minutes and just ok, the drop is most spectacular and gets me moving! Download: The Good Men – Give It Up (2011 Edit)
I don’t know why I have never posted this song. It’s a must have, and one of the best Daft Punk remixes I have heard. The image of the white rabbit jumping on stilts at Beyond Wonderland to this song during Porter Robinsons set is permanently burned into my brain. Those of you who were there can relate. Pure jubilation! Download: Daft Punk – One More Time (Mike Candys & Jack Holiday Remix)
Wolfgang Gartner recently released his album Weekend in America. To supplement his album, he released his Bob Marley mashup he has been smashing at his shows. Classic Wolfgang with Bob Marley vocals, Winning! Download: The Way The Sun Is Shining
Next is Kaskade. There really isn’t much more to say… dude won Americas best DJ and continues to put out bangers. I was blessed to see him twice this month. Thank you Ryan for some of the best nights of my life.
Forth is Eric Prydz. I have been curious as to why I never see him on any US lineups. Apparently, he is afraid of flying. Eric… do us all a favor and toughen up! America is waiting for you with open arms. His new single “2Night” is a banger. It reminds me a lot of his household anthem “Call on me.”
I’ve been waiting on this Remixtape for quite some time now and as I hoped, it blew my mind. There are some great remixes of classic old tracks as originally promised, but thats not the entirety of the 35 minute joy ride. The rest is made up of insanely good mixes like MIA’s Paper Planes mashed up with the Nas and Lauryn Hill cut If I Ruled The World, a Nirvana remix and a remix of Upside Down that made me forget the original ever existed.
It has been a little since my last post, but what can I say…. I am a busy guy! Todays post will be dedicated to trance music. We will have a little this and a little that from the biggest names. Its time to speed up the BPM.
First up Ferry Corsten & Armin van Buuren team up together to produce another track which will be featured on Ferry Corsten’s artist album this year. “Brute” is taking over the dancefloors worldwide by storm. This track has great potential, I feel like it needs a remix to send the build up to another level. What’s your thoughts?
A trance mix wouldn’t be complete without my favorite artist Gareth Emery. His new single “Mansion” is off the new album, The Sound of Garuda: Chapter 2. The album is definitely worth a listen.Download: Gareth Emery – Mansion
Today will be full of bangers from the youngins. Alesso 18, and Avicii 21, have been putting out james all year long and these tracks will not disappoint.
Just because it is the end of summer doesn’t mean the party is coming to an end. Alesso and Sebastain Ingrosso are squeezing out everything they can, and this one is a jam! Download: Alesso & Sebastain Ingrosso – Calling (Original Instrumental Mix)
Alesso Continues to impress. Show this track some love and turn it up!
These past two weekends I was blessed to be able to attend both the Mountain View and Gorge Identity Festivals. Both were unbelievable, and full of great memories. It was wonderful seeing many of you there. Take a close look…. If I saw you, you’re most likely in one of these videos.
Raining (Intro) – Mountain View
Fire In Your Shoes – The Gorge
Turn It Down – The Gorge
I Know the Truth – The Gorge
I Know the Truth – Mountain View
Big Ups to this kid who climbed the pole and danced until security kicked him out… you made my day!
Starting off, a brand new collaboration from Diplo and Skrillex. I’m not a huge fan of bro-step or of Skrillex in general, in fact those who know me know that I hate on Skrillex like its my job. However, when he teams up with Diplo to do a Moombahton track- I bite my tounge. Love this one- great sample from DJ Shadow’s Organ Donor, and a nasty drop to top it off.
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. What happens in Chuckie’s studio, leaves quickly and goes right into my eardrums. This song isn’t the most impressive thing I’ve heard come out of said studio, but live, no doubt the crowd goes ape-shit on that drop.
What Happens in Vegas (Club Mix) – Chuckie ft. Gregor Salto
I first heard this remix from Laidback Luke at USC 14 a few months back, I distinctly remember turning to my friend Rich and saying, “what the fuck is this!” as we both shook our faces onto the floor. Rich then heard Kaskade drop it at Identity Festival last week. Banger alert.
Speak Up (Instrumental Mix)- Laidback Luke ft Wynter Gordon
After the high-energy dutch house from Dada Life, Chuckie and Laidback, time for something a little more relaxed to wind down. This fantastic edit of the Nervo twins’ We’re All No One from Steve Aoki, Afrojack and Cheyenne Giles Is anyone else just loving these collabo’s from Aoki and Afrojack? Keep em comin’ gents!
We’re All No One – Nervo (Afrojack, Steve Aoki & Cheyenne Giles Edit)
Its mid week, and time for some chilled out tunes. If you have not heard of Nightmares on Wax I suggest you get downloading. Their chilled out vibe will be appreciated by anyone and anytime. They are the whole reason I began listening to EDM music. And have not released an album in years, so these are all old tracks I am sharing with you. I suggest listening to these tracks and then downloading the whole albums because you will want them all. Perfect for lounging, doing homework, or just background music.
First, “You Wish.” You may recognize this as the track Pretty Lights samples for “Finally Moving.” And really the reason I began listening to Pretty Lights was because it was a dope remix of this song.Download: Nightmares on Wax – You Wish
Identity Festival Mountain View is in the books and it exceed all of my expectations! The afternoon was hot, but full of free drinks from the vendors. I enjoyed numerous free Slurpees as well as Rockstars. It was also the only show I had seen with vendors walking around with waters, gatorades and other drinks. A big plus when you do not want to miss any action. My afternoon consistent of Datsik, Le Castle Vania, Nero, Booka Shade and Nervo. All were pretty sick and what I would expect, but a nightcap of Pretty Lights and Kaskade was unreal. Kaskade may have been the best show/set I have ever attended. I sang my heart out to the harmonious vocals and enjoyed every second of his euphoric melodies. I cannot wait for saturday at the Gorge! Since all I can really think about is Kaskade these days here are a few songs he played this weekend. Enjoy! I hope to see most of you Saturday!
First is his unreleased track “Turn It Down.” Watch the video, the drop is epic! The download link is for a low quality version, I will updated it once the track is officially released.Download: Kaskade – Turn It Down
