What’s up Without House?! Count van Count here! For my inaugural post I thought it would only be fitting to highlight my absolute favorite electronic music duo…the men of Tritonal! Now, I must give all the credit in the world to Cookie Monster for discovering these guys. Ever since he put me on to them my ears haven’t been able to turn away. Their set at EDC Vegas this year was by far the highlight of the weekend and quite possibly the greatest set I’ve ever witnessed live. Today I wanted to feature their new album “Piercing The Quiet- Remixed” and showcase my favorite tracks off the album.
The Something New (Rafael Frost Remix) is an incredibly uplifting trance tune that Chad and Dave premiered at EDC back in June. The slow build through the middle that leads to the epic, harmonious, synth filled drop is the icing on the cake. This is my personal favorite song from the entire album. Be sure to check out Rafael Frost’s track “Channel 4”. This guy is a name on the rise in the trance scene.

Ziziki (Estiva Remix) is another stand out track off the album. The Dutch trance producer really delivers and would make fellow Dutchman, “Trance Jesus” Armin van Buuren, proud. It is a heavy hitter from start to finish, but the breakdown in the middle is so emotionally provocative that it’s my favorite part of the entire song.

Craig Connelly’s remix of Everafter is a true trance anthem. Christina Soto’s vocals are absolutely mesmerizing and this song is sure to get any dancefloor rocking!

Best of The Rest:
It’s no coincidence that my other favorite tracks off PTQR are all from the Anjunabeats family. No one does it better than the guys at Anjuna and Mat Zo’s Lifted remix is proof. Tritonal opened with this exact track at EDC, hence the title “EDC Intro Edit”, and it does not disappoint.

The Can’t Keep It In (Maor Levi’s Starlight Remix) is trance music at it’s finest. This song has so many different layers of sound that it literally entrances your mind when listening to them all at once. This is a dirtier sound from Maor, but I’m absolutely loving it.

Last but not least, Super 8 & Tab’s Piercing the Quiet Remix is nothing short of amazing. These guys have been one of my favorite trance artists over the last year, and this remix is proof that these guys are here to stay.

Overall this album is an absolute must for any Tritonian or trance fan alike. It’s a double disc that also includes ten hard hitting club mixes of Tritonal’s PTQ album. However, I’d suggest buying it on iTunes where you can get an additional five bonus remixes for purchasing. I’ll be seeing these guys play at Ruby Skye later this month, so if you live in the Bay Area get your ass out and join me!
